Monthly favourites – August

I haven’t written a monthly favourites blog for a while and I thought I’d check in and let you know what’s what.

Digital art

I’ve been loving my IPad and Apple Pencil more than ever throughout August. I completed two commissions of custom timelines that I’ll write about at a later date. The Apple Pencil is such a great invention and it makes accurate and impressive drawing possible in digital format.

For my friend’s birthday this month I decided to get some tickets to an upcoming musical. I picked up a brochure from the venue and produced a digital drawing to make the page of the show we’ll be attending.

Binge worthy watches

The final season of Orange Is The New Black was released this month and boy it was emotional. I loved the show when it was first released but my love for it died a little each season. The final season ties up several lose ends, focuses on real life issues like the current American detaining and deportation crisis and it really pulls at your heart strings. It was a rollercoaster of emotions and I shed a few tears, but it’s definitely worth a watch. I’d recommend it as a great series to binge.

I well and truly embodied binge watching with Peaky Blinders this past week after trying to cram in every episode to catch up with the current series. Peaky Blinders is now officially my favourite show. It’s a very violent drama focusing on the life of a Birmingham gang in the 20s and 30s. The characters are total bad guys and gals, but so lovable! Definitely give it a watch.

Music

I find that I’m listening to music more than ever these days, especially on my commute to and from work. I’m loving the Mellow music playlist on Apple Music which is constantly updated with new tunes by Apple. It’s amazing how much music can put you in a good mood or chill you out when you

Work life

In 2 weeks I’ll be celebrating my 3 month work anniversary at Mad Dog 2020 Casting. I speak to so many different people on a daily basis, work with a great team who have great banter and I feel so lucky to be in such wonderful company in the exciting film & TV industry!

These are my favourite things of the last month, what are yours ?
